Introduction to the Society

The Society is run as a friendly group based in the southern counties of England to promote Japan and its culture. We run a programme of meetings every other month throughout the year and in addition are keen to support other events our members may suggest. Events held have included talks on Japanese culture, both ancient and modern, and practical demonstrations including cookery, drumming and Kendo.

The society also receives support from the Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation.

Hairy Bikers Asian Adventure

BBC Two are currently showing a series titled The Hairy Bikers Asian Adventure. The series follows Dave Myers and Si King as they explore Asian countries who's food has influenced tastes in the UK. Episodes 4 and 5 were filmed in Japan and are being shown on Thursday 6th and 13th March.
