Description of Society
The Society is a friendly group based in the Great Britain for anyone interested in Japanese culture, society, art, food, literature, language, films or Japan in general. One of our objectives is to foster good British-Japanese links and we have members from both the UK and Japan. We are localised in Hampshire, West Sussex and the English Southern Counties in general, though our membership is largely from the East Hampshire and West Sussex area.

You can see what we get up to by looking in our past meetings reports!

Meetings
Most monthly meetings are held in the evening at 7.30 pm in the Physic Garden Hall in Petersfield. Come at 7pm if you are a member and  would like to talk Japanese with our Japanese members. We usually begin by chatting together over drinks and snacks, and go on to talks which have included how it is to be a Japanese teaching in England, or a Brit teaching in Japan, the experiences of ex British Ambassadors to Japan, what the Japanese Garden Society does, and a fund-raising Japan Quiz Night. Side trips have included a visit to the local Buddhist monastery and a joint Gardens visit with the London Japan Society.
Most talks are free to members. Non members are welcome, £5.00
